Rule 17
Functions, Duties and Powers of the Advisory Board

(1) The work, duties and powers of the advisory board formed in accordance with sub-section (1) of section 15 of the Act shall be as follows:-
(a) To give advice and suggestions to the Government of Nepal on the policy to be adopted in relation to non-resident Nepalis,
(b) Identify attractive investment areas for non-resident Nepalis to invest in and give suggestions to motivate non-resident Nepalis to invest in such areas,
(c) To promote and encourage the investment and cooperation of non-resident Nepalis by identifying the areas where non-resident Nepalis can play a role in the construction and operation of infrastructure and the overall development of Nepal. (d) To make suggestions to the Government of Nepal on the legal, policy and institutional reforms to be adopted in order to make the investment of non-resident Nepalis safe, sustainable and long-term,
(e) To make suggestions to the Government of Nepal about the measures to be taken to solve the obstacles and difficulties encountered in the implementation of the Act and this regulation,
(f) To make necessary recommendations regarding the work to be done in relation to maintaining harmonious relations between non-resident Nepalis,
(G) To make suggestions regarding the policy to be adopted by the Government of Nepal in order to maintain the cultural unity of non-resident Nepalis abroad.
(2) The meeting of the advisory board as per sub-section (1) of section 15 of the Act and other related procedures shall be as determined by the board itself.
(3) The advisory board as per sub-section (1) of section 15 of the Act shall submit a report of its activities to the Government of Nepal every year and such report shall be made public by the Government of Nepal as required.
